As I was reading the other testimonials on this page, I realised that most of them have been given by senior members – Rozy’s peers. But I want the world to know that budding Toastmasters too have love and admiration for her that knows no bounds.
Someone once told me about Toastmasters in 2015 but it wasn’t until 4 years later that I finally got myself to a meeting in Nairobi. I think it was my good fortune that Rozy was in the line-up of speakers, because that evening she delivered a speech on leadership styles. For 7 minutes I was totally gripped and I thought, “Wow! I want to be able to speak in public like that”. Over the last one and a half years, I have not only known Rozy as an excellent speaker, but also a brilliant leader. She sponsored the club that I am currently a member of, and through her mentorship, several newbies like me have gone on to accomplish so much in such a short time in both their Toastmasters and professional lives.
Rozy is an inspirational and aspirational leader – one who leaves a lasting impact wherever she goes. Seeing her on the international stage as an International Director will prove to our newly-formed district that our dreams are certainly not far-fetched. Rozy has been instrumental in the formation of District 114 and how it is currently thriving. In fact, I urge you to attend one of our virtual meetings on Zoom to experience the thrill for yourself!
Thousands of Toastmasters are being represented by a well-deserving candidate. Having Rozy as an International Director will certainly amplify our voice in the global community. And on a personal note, I would go so far as to say that my admiration for Rozy is perhaps the reason I will be a Toastmaster for life!
