Pathways Guide and District 27 Administration Manager, 2016-2017

In August 2011, I decided to save some money by sharing a hotel room with another Toastmaster at the Las Vegas International convention in 2011.  She turned out to be a wonderful, delightful woman, Rozy Rana, from a small undistricted community of seven Clubs in Nairobi, Kenya.  We had a wonderful time exploring the strip, going to the top of the “Eiffel Tower”, watching the Bellagio water spectacle, and of course, enjoying the convention.  I found her to be an engaging, funny, and very dedicated person.

We have run across each other at subsequent conventions and I’ve watched in awe as her little region has grown into a territorial council, a provisional District, and now a brand new full District comprising of 65 Clubs in East Africa.  As the first District Director of her District, she led it to Smedley Distinguished status.  She is now running for International Director of Region 11 and I think she’d be a wonderful addition.  She is of Indian ethnicity, living in Kenya, and has a wonderful multicultural background
